Northern Beaches...hmmm 07/22/2011
Hi there - I'm looking at buying an older unit to reno in the Northern Beaches part of Sydney: Freshwater and Dee Why areas are my initial thoughts, as they look a bit undervalued compared to Manly and Queenscliff.
- Not bad areas, but little on the market at present. Wait for spring. Crowsnest could be good alternative. Prices seem more realsitic there ,maybe as there is more competition in that area? Northern Beaches...hmmm --- I am not sure. Freshwater does attrack drunken teens at night, then again many areas do! Manly has girl gangs that have attacked adults.

The Northern Beaches is an informal term used to describe the northern coastal suburbs of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia, located near the coast of the Pacific Ocean. I've always liked the beaches on the South Coast of NSW, more natural and dramatic then the northern beaches.
3 months is loads for this East Coast... if you've got the money, I'd get over to Alice Springs and see Uluru, The Olgas and Kings Canyon, but if not then I'd recommend spending time in the Northern Beaches (Manly etc) around Sydney,
The Northern Beaches district is usually considered to be the area of the Northern Beaches Statistical Subdivision, comprising fully the local government areas of Manly, Warringah and Pittwater. - Backpackers also head to Manly which you can get to via ferry from circular quay (by the opera house). Take a trip up to the northern beaches if you have time - Palm Beach is where home and away is filmed and Avalon beach is beautiful.
