I was raised in the Mascot area. Mascot is only a five minutes' drive away from Sydney airport and a twenty minutes' drive to the city. Mascot is also very connected by public buses. Houses around Mascot are your typical suburban houses. Mascot is full of potential since it's close to the city and lots of developments have been taken place. Metro bus has started service in Mascot and significantly reduced the waiting time for bus traveling to and from the city. Mascot is in the safe Labor federal electoral division of Kingsford Smith. I've been living in Mascot for more than half year and I love the place. In the 2001 Australian Bureau of Statistics Census of Population and Housing, the population of the Mascot postcode area was 8087 people. 45% of the population was born overseas.
