I have lived on the north shore side in Greenwich, Lane Cove, Crows Nest which is nice but a bit expensive. Lane Cove is not a “cool” suburb, but if you have a family or if you like plenty of greenery, parks and serenity then Lane Cove is a great place to live. Lane Cove River CP is the closest park to a motorway. I have looked at Lane Cove River CP which is in North Ryde but looking at the map it seems as though we will have to negotiate the dreaded Sydney traffic towing a 22' van! Lane Cove park is another good one, but a little more scary for the stranger to find. According to the 2001 Census, there were 30756 people living in Lane Cove including 14870 males (48.35%) and 15886 females (51.65%). Lane Cove also has many small creeks and rivers that flow through it and therefore has many expanses of bushland. Lane Cove Aquatic centre was redeveloped in 2003 and is operated by Lane Cove Council. Lane Cove is located 9 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of the Municipality of Lane Cove. |
